Fruit platter and cookies

Image
Fruit Platter It is very tricky to get the kids to eat some fruits and veggie in a party. So I suggest you present it is such a way that it becomes harder for them to resist.  1. Seven cherry tomatoes 2. Four circular pineapple pieces (cut in half, which makes 8 semi circles) 3. One or two oranges 4. Red grapes 5. Green grapes 6. One pear cut in half longitudinally 7. Two whole black papper for eyes 8. Long thin pieces of carrots for legs and one small triangular piece for the nose.  Just assemble everything according to the following picture. You can use any fruit you like - such a blue berries, different types of melons, kiwifruits etc. But be careful using bananas and apples because they oxidize very quickly causes in colour change.      Flower cookies You will have no problem try to sell (I mean get them to eat) these to kids. M&Ms has been glued to the crackers by chocolate. That's it. One more platter to impress the tiny guests at a party.

All food items were made with special care to go with the lego theme, there were lego friends themed games as well. The girls had  a lot of fun eating the food and participating in the games.  Lego cake I followed a basic chocolate cake recipe to bake two rectangular shaped cakes. I assembled one cake over the other using chocolate icing between the two layers. Kitkat chocolate bars on the sides made it special. A ribbon tied all around held everything together nicely.  Chocolate icing in between two layers of chocolate cake and the top layer got moist by a drizzle of caramel. The cake was decorated as a beach - sand area and water area. The sand area was done with cookie crumbs. The water area was made by basic vanilla icing coloured blue by food colour (I used stabilized whipped cream). I assembled the lego structures on top of
